Welcome to DX CHAT!
Post a welcome message here! I will say hello to you.
Simply click on the underlined_text_in_red that reads, "Post a welcome message" which is at the very top left of your screen next to the text "Forums -". Then click on the underlined_text_in_red that reads, "New Topic", which is at the very top of the screen under the title "DX Chat Room".
A window will appear in which you type your hello message. Enter your message. Messages on forums like this one, are commonly referred to as "posts". Using the buttons at the very bottom of your message, click "Post Message". You can of course press the "Spell Check" button before you post, or the "Preview Post" before you post to see how your post is going to look.
Once you have posted a welcome message in this forum you are ready to post messages in any of the other forum areas. I look forward to your participation!
The other thing you want to practice is "replying" to a message. Reply to this message simply by clicking on the underlined_text_in_red that reads, "Reply", which is at the very top of the screen under the title "DX Chat Room".
You 'reply' to a message when you have something to add or to say about it - just like replying to an e-mail. You post a new message when you'd like to start a new conversation or ask a new question with the users of this forum; just like creating a new e-mail.
This is the 'practice forum' where you can create your own "hello" post as a new conversation to which I will reply, and where you reply this post as part of this topic. Everyone finds it a little odd to post a message for the first time and to reply to posted message for the first time. That is why this practice area is here. So post away, and let's get you started here in the DX Chat room.
